Healing and hydrating: two key things for glowing skin!

Dr. Ceuracle Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule

Cosrx has always been my go-to brands for propolis because they have a great reputation and their propolis products have always been super popular – read more about the products and what propolis can do for your skin here.

I get a bit distracted by new shiny so I hadn’t tried this classic Dr Ceuracle ampoule but I’m on a bit of a Dr Ceuracle binge at the moment!

I wanted something super healing because I’ve been using the Skin1004 Zombie Beauty Bloody Peel (which is excellent) and I didn’t have any propolis in my routine so it was a good time to try it.

I wouldn’t suggest starting new products when you’re adding something exfoliating, I waited until I’d tested the Skin1004 before starting the Dr Ceuracle.

Texture and fragrance

The syrupy thick texture feels immediately soothing and calming. Despite how thick it is, it absorbs so well, I feel like there’s a protective layer on my skin, without there being any greasiness or residue – it’s probably more down to the ingredients than the texture, though!

The ampoule doesn’t contain any fragrance but it smells absolutely beautiful from the Propolis and royal jelly extract. It makes my routine a joy because it smells so nice.

Ingredients

There’s a lot of barrier supporting ingredients here, as well as things to make your skin glow.

In fact, most of the ingredients are both barrier supporting and glowy – major win!

Propolis, royal jelly and niacinamide do both, panthenol is soothing whilst sea buckhorne extract and vitamin c are glowy.

I will say, whilst vitamin c can be difficult for some people because it is sometimes in a low pH and therefore quite acidic formula, this is a very gentle formulation so I think it’s more of a brightening ingredient than anything else.

Oh and there’s a few hydrating ingredients too – I shouldn’t forget to mention those! Although primarily this serum is aimed at brightening and nourishing, it does supply light hydration as well.

Experience

My current soothing routine is great (lots of snail) but I thought I could take it up a notch.

This ampoule reminds me why I like to have a propolis product in my routine – it’s such a versatile ingredient – and it’s effects are seriously boosted by the other ingredients, particularly the royal jelly.

I know it’s only a very small ampoule, which means that you get much less product for your money. However, whilst I’m always using too much product, I find I need very little of this ampoule to get the desired effects.

I rarely literally only use two drops of a product but it’s easy to do with this one because the viscosity combined with the spreadability makes a little go a long way without feeling like you’re not using enough.

Dr. Ceuracle Hyal Reyouth Ampoule

There’s a lot of interesting things going on with this ampoule and I didn’t know that much about it before trying it but I’m glad I did because it’s effective and the texture is amazing!

Texture & Fragrance

It has a beautiful thick jelly texture and it’s stretchy – it’s kinda like snail in that respect, although not in others! However, don’t let this fool you, though, it will absorb extremely well.

Whilst my Cosrx Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence absorbs nicely, I realise now that I’d been relying on the fact that it leaves a little gooey moisture behind so my cream will glide on. Read more in the review here.

I went ahead with applying lotion to my body before coming back to apply cream to my neck and my skin was fully dry.

Not that there was any issues with my cream application because the Isntree Chestnut PHA 5 Clear Cream is silky so it spreads nicely even on totally dry skin, I was just surprised how quick the Dr Ceuracle dried given the jelly texture!

The fragrance is very light and refreshing – it’s really quite nice so I’d prefer a bit more strength to it but

Ingredients

When I saw a 6 hyaluronic acid complex and some unusual types of hyaluronic acid, I knew I had to try this product first out of all the new Dr Ceuracle products at UNBLEMISH!

There’s some plant extracts for antioxidants, including the famous ginseng extract. Whilst this ampoule has a tiny bit of oil, I don’t notice it and it’s definitely more hydrating than moisturising.

That being said, there’s lots of great ingredients that do provide light moisturising effects, like panthenol and beta-glucan.

The ginseng and beta-glucan may also contribute to the well-aging aspects of this ampoule.

Experience

Let’s get the slightly annoying bit out the way: I’d argue that the texture is perhaps a little bit too thick for a dropper format and I would prefer a pump.

My hands are a bit weak generally but even with conscious effort, I haven’t managed to get the dropper more than a thitd full. This isn’t a deal breaker because it’s perfectly straightforward to just do it a second time but it’s worth mentioning as slightly annoying.

Realistically, though, you wouldn’t need even a third of the dropper to cover your face. I’m putting it through a harsh test, as usual, by having it as my sole hydrating neck product.

For my neck and chest, I want around half a dropper or slightly more.

As my only hydrating product, it does the job perfectly: no dry or itchiness. It also plumps out my deep sleep creases.

For immediate plumping, it works as quickly as the Cosrx Snail Dual Radiance Essence, although I think I’d argue that there’s more ensuring well-aging benefits to the Cosrx – I would, however, expect that because of the snail and high niacinamide content.

But it’s not like we only need to use one product forever just because it does a good job – I just like to put products to the test.

I think we all know that we get benefits from layering products and using both of these together makes a significant difference – I go from having normal skin to having super hydrated, plump glowing skin – and that’s on my neck of all places!

Final Word

These are two really nice products, which are cosmetically elegant and effective.

Personally, I got one for my face and one for my neck as I was tailoring my routine to target specific concerns.

However, they definitely serve different purposes and there’s no reason you couldn’t use both!
