Your skin needs to be nourished and looked after with the correct products to allow the makeup to sit on the skin in a seamless manner. It’s all well and good investing in expensive makeup products, but the total image does not come together.
I have tried many skincare products to use on myself and my clients. I do not recommend products that have not been tested by myself. All products purchased have been paid for by myself. Right so let’s get into this…
My Journey and Skin Type
I have used brands ranging from La Poche Rosa, The Ordinary, Paula’s Choice and The Inkey List. The list goes on! However, as I started to do further research I was invested into Korean and Japanese Skincare. TikToks with many recommendations and a lot of advertisement in Korean dramas. Korean dramas are for another day! But I started to do further research on my skin type.
I have combination skin. Skin is fairly normal however my T-Zone can be pretty oily. I would say I have sensitive skin and suffer from bumps underneath the skin that not really visible but can be seen when makeup is applied on top.
After a stressful year, I needed to get the glow back on my skin and thought why not invest in some Korean Skincare. Doing my research, I came across Beauty of Joseon and how viral they are! The key products that are famous are the sunscreen which has probiotics and rice and SPF 50! The next viral product is of course their eye cream which has 10% Ginseng and Retinal.
A Friend of mine travelled to South Korea and told me that the products were that popular they were out of stock in Olive and Young. Feeling gutted I thought where can I get these at a reasonable price in the UK? Whilst searching I came across the common websites however reading reviews, they had long delivery times.
I needed to get my skin in check. Scrolling on TikTok I came across Unblemish.co.uk and they offer free delivery over £30 and 10% off first order. I was sold.
My Experience with Korean Skincare Products
INNISFREE Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream
I ordered the sunscreen and eye cream by Beauty of Joseon as well as the very very famous Innisfree Cherry Blossom Moisturizer. God, I kid you not if you need glass skin. This is the item you need. The first on your list.
Right delivery was sooooo quick and I got my order. I started using my skincare that same night. I can’t emphasis enough how amazing the cherry blossom moisturiser is. It instantly plumps the skin, gives it the hydrated glow and smooth looking skin. The skin feels bouncy and instantly shines not the greasy shine!
It can be worn underneath makeup as a primer as well. There is no greasy feel or sticky touch to this product at all. I know now why it’s always out of stock! Thank God to Unblemish UK for having this in stock. I will be repurchasing this item as now it become a must have in my skincare routine.
BEAUTY OF JOSEON Revive Eye Serum Ginseng + Retinal
Next up is the eye serum by Beauty of Joseon, I have started using it religiously morning and evening, lightly massaging it on the under eye. I must say it is very moisturizing and firming. I am yet to see the brightening, but I guess that will come with time. The serum is very lightweight and again doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
I have skin that it instantly minimises my fine lines but of course not fully remove. But in this week of using the serum I have seen instant changes and I will continue to pursue using it to see the brightening effects.
BEAUTY OF JOSEON Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics
Last up from my order is the Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen SPF50. Oh my god! NO WONDER this is viral! What an amazing sunscreen. No white cast, no marks, no greasy feel. This is to die for! I am so glad I chose the beauty of Joseon brand, because believe me it really does live up to the hype it states on all social media platforms.
I am so glad I took the leap! Sunscreen is so important if we are using acids and different components on our skin. We are exposing the skin to the sun, even if we don’t get much sun in the UK, daylight still have rays! We need to be protected.
Embracing Korean and Japanese Skincare
So, if anyone like me is obsessed with skincare and wishes to have glass like skin, Korean and Japanese skincare ranges is your new best friend. Korean skincare has natural ingredients that will not be harsh on the skin. But instead, will nourish your skin. The key with skincare is to be consistent with it.
Using retinols can be quite overwhelming but you need to start off slow. Some products with strong AHA/BHA, retinols can only be on the skin a few times a week. the build up is key. Not all can be used at once as this can affect the skin. Understanding what the product does is very key!
There are many options to choose from, but research is key. Find out your main skin concerns and search as per your skin type. That is the best option.
Future Plans and Recommendations
I have a huge list of items I wish to try next in the beauty of Joseon brand and I will be adding to my routine. I require a new toner, essence, and facial mist spray. So, these will be adding in my skincare routine from unblemish UK!
Once again if you are in the UK and looking to order Korean Skincare, check out Unblemish UK. It is currently the website in the UK! You got my word in that.
