Rom&nd Han All Flat Brow in Classic Grey
I’m a survivor of the 90s super thin brow and for a long time brow products baffled me.
It probably also doesn’t help that i plucked my eyebrows into oblivion – I had no idea at the time that big brows would end up being fashionable!
I’ve tried a few brow products and it has not gone well – once again, K-Beauty has the answer.
Easy to use
Rom&nd’s Han All brow pencil is so user friendly in a number of ways, which I’ll list out for you.
There’s something about liners in a traditional pencil (the kind I’d tried before) that don’t lend themselves well to newbies. I get that you can absolutely get a natural looking fill in with the round ones, especially if you’re well practiced, but I struggled.
The Rom&nd is a nice rectangle shape that makes it easy to fill in brow gaps or add a bit of shape to the edges of your brows without looking overdone.
Pencil colour
The colour is versatile – I’ve actually got quite dark brows but the shade works well to give a bit of variation and depth to my brows without being heavy.
There’s a softness to the colour that looks very natural and along with the ease of application, I assumed it wouldnt last very well. However, I found the staying power is very good, I didn’t notice any smudging or gappy brows throughout the day.
Granted, I did apply it lightly because I’m so new to doing daily brows but it did exactly what I wanted from it so I’m super happy.
Classic Grey is a great colour on me and definitely the right first choice because of my cool colouring, especially as my hair is a plummy purple right now.
I’m definitely tempted to try the Grace Taupe for slightly warmer looks or when I have different coloured hair, as it looks warm but not too warm!
Rom&nd Han All Fix Mascara in Long Ash
Of all my make-up, I am most fussy about mascara. My standards are apparently really high – I will use a product that doesn’t live up to my expectations because I don’t like waste but I will sulk and complain to anyone who will listen!
I’m not chasing thick lashes, although I see the appeal: I want length and any volume is a bonus. I do not want clumps or flakes.
Because I’m looking for maximum length, I tend to apply a lot of layers so if a mascara is prone to clumps or flakes, it will do both when I get hold of it! Oh and I have oily, hooded lids as well as dry but watery eyes so I find mascaras tend to transfer because all of those together are make-up kryptonite!
I tried the Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop mascara and it was awesome! Easily the best for my requirements and it reliably produced good results.
Some mascaras produce great lashes one day and then they don’t apply so well the next. I always assumed it was user error, although, like I say, the Heimish worked well every time.
But there’s always other options out there so I couldn’t resist trying something new – when do I ever resist shiny new things?!
The Rom&nd Han All might actually be slightly better than than the Heimish. I mean, I did say I’d be a Heimish customer for life but I’m going to have to cheat on them with the Rom&nd!
Brush shape
Firstly, the brush shape is more to my liking. A skinny curved brush is the best type for lengthening with little effort in my experience.
Because the brush suits the purpose of this mascara, it performs better: I find I don’t have to apply as many coats of the Rom&nd to get the look I want, compared to the Heimish.
I did try a lot of coats to see how it performed and you don’t actually need to apply it so heavily to get the kind of length – I just like to push a mascara to its limits to find out if I’ll need to be careful with my application.
Even with heavy usage, there were zero clumps and zero flakes, and that’s what makes it really shine. I’ve had no fall out at all so no panda eyes, even after 12+ hours wear
A curved brush is also excellent for curling lashes – my lashes do curl easily but I get even more uplift with this particular mascara, which is great for days when I’m looking a bit more tired than usual.
Mascara colour
The colour is amazing: on my lashes, it’s a cool grey-brown that has a soft look. This is particularly nice as I tend to do cooler toned eyeshadow that can be overwhelmed with black mascara.
These two Rom&nd eye products compliment each other perfectly – the tones are similar and I will definitely look to get my mascara and brow products from the same brand in future!
Removing the mascara
A note on removing it: you really do want some kind of oil based product. I tried removing it with a basic make-up wipe (I don’t usually but it had been a long day) and it didn’t budge!
The Heimish removes with water and a bit of massaging so some people might prefer that in terms of removal. But as I mentioned in my review, I did get the tiniest bit of transfer occasionally so the Rom&nd is the winner for me.
K-Beauty oil cleansers and balms are designed to remove stubborn make-up so being a bit more effort to remove isn’t an issue – it just melts with a little oily cleanser.
I’ve also worn it daily for a few weeks and haven’t had irritated eyes. As always with make-up, especially when I use powder eyeshadows, my eyes feel a bit drier at the end of the day. With some mascaras, my eyes feel itchy after 8 hours wear but I didn’t find any itchiness at the end of the day with the Rom&nd.
Final Word
I’m really impressed with these two products and I think I’ll try different styles and colours from Rom&nd when I’m running low. Of course I’ll review and compare them!
